My Sunshine & Twinkle, Twinkle

It absolutely amazes me that two little girls can be SO individually unique and independent, yet...

have identical DNA?!

I was FINALLY tipped off after their first visit to the dentist, and decided to find out for sure as a Christmas/Birthday gift to Tom this year. Not that it really matters to us in the big scheme of things right now. I adore them both equally, and differently, and love them completely no matter what. But now we know. For sure. And I can answer that question with absolutely certainty. But still to me, they remain SO different :)

Chirstmas 2010

'Twas the night before Christmas...

Santa Cookies....

Bedtime stories...

The little Elf...
The girls were SO excited that Santa was coming... but once he'd been here, they hardly know what to do! When they saw all the gifts piled around our tree, they stood back, almost dumbfounded... just taking it all in.

They got into the groove quickly, starting with their stockings first...
And by the time we got to the gifts, they were on a roll.

Unfortunately, Courtney has a lingering virus and petered out quickly. She laid on the floor nibbling dry Cheerios, while Danielle continued to open gifts with fervor.
We went on our second annual Christmas breakfast at IHOP with our neighbors, and Courtney laid across my lap the entire meal. Needless to say, the rest of our day was pretty low-key.

The Christmas Tree Farm, day after Thanksgiving...

They were both SO excited to see him, but of course got shy when it was time to tell him what they wanted for Christmas :)

Catching Up....FALL

Has it really been since September that I last posted?!
Well, here is what we have been up to this fall....
So, bad news first... my beloved cat, Milo, disappeared back in August. I think I am finally coming to terms with the fact that he will not return this time. I am VERY sad and miss him dearly. So do the girls. He was the one pet of ours that tolerated them, allowing himself to be petted, picked up, and was even a great patient when they got out their Dr. kit! We are all very sad...

Oh, the drama....

the school fall festival,

D & C
and Halloween, of course!
The girls wore Princess Dresses sent by Auntie Karen (Danielle is in blue, Courtney in pink), and Tom and I dressed as their servants (a chef and a maid). Not a big stretch for any of us!
They enjoyed Trick-or-Treating and getting LOTS of candy. Danielle ran ahead of us from house to house, while Courtney was more timid, wanting either Tom or myself to go with her to each door.
Mimi came to visit early in November to help Tom with the girls while I was on a work trip. Thanksgiving was relatively uneventful. We missed celebrating with family but enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner and great company with some friends from our Church. We spent the rest of the long weekend getting our Christmas tree and decorating both the inside and outside of the house!
